IMPORTANT Announcement regarding The Summit

The live, 2020 Las Vegas Summit is cancelled, but we have plans to bring the Summit to you online. Sometimes running a business requires making really tough decisions and Jennifer, my COO, and I had to make one
today.

WE HAVE CANCELLED THE VEGAS SUMMIT

Actually, we rescheduled it for this fall. We’re tentatively looking to schedule it the first week of September in Orlando, Florida. We understand this is a big disappointment and inconvenience for all those planning to come to Vegas.

Imagine how we felt, but we made the decision after weighing all the facts, the risk, and a few shouting matches between Jen and me. After
weighing all the facts, we really didn’t have a choice for several reasons
due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

As a valued student, you have a right to know those reasons.

But, before I share them, here are my thoughts on the virus.

It’s serious and deadly to an extremely small percentage of the population, but how long of a list of illnesses could we make that are even more deadly that we live with every day that don’t drive the population into a
hyped-up fear frenzy? The flu being one. Does the entire economy come
to a halt every flu season?

As I write this, I’m leaving a Mastermind group I joined. We met for 3 days in California. The virus didn’t deter a single attendee, and when I left, the airport was full.

We simply dealt with it, not to be mistaken for ignoring it. We dealt with it.

We didn’t shake hands or hug. There were hand sanitizes everywhere, and we even ate from a buffet every day.  I left and went to Dallas to teach my Quick Start Real Estate School Boot Camp. The airport was full, and today we have a full room.

When you consider the odds of being one of 335 million people and only a few hundred have it, I’d say you have a better chance of getting killed in a car accident going to the grocery store. In fact, a 12,582% better chance according to Google.

Nevertheless, sound reasoning doesn’t rule society, perception is reality. The perception is if you travel, you’ll become extremely sick or die.  So, we had to deal with it at Global because we can’t change public perception of the COVID-19 virus.

(Before I go further, I’m aware the only smart decision for some people with illnesses is not to leave your home. No one would dispute that, certainly not me.)

So, here are our reasons:

1. We’re receiving cancellations every day and so far, we have a 50% drop off. We expect more every day as the media hypes it up. It didn’t help when the WHO declared COVID-19 a Pandemic.

2. The cost of hosting the Summit for the remaining brave hearts would result in a handsome six figure loss. It will still result in a 6-figure loss even though we’re postponing until the fall.

3. We don’t want to risk your health for money. You got to know I fought hard on this one, but the more sane, female minds on the staff prevailed. I don’t see a big health risk, but I’m told I don’t have a normal mindset.

4. Cancelling it now doesn’t mean we won’t do the event.

It just means we’ll wait for the chaos to pass and do a bigger and better one. Plans are already in the works, and it will be totally different than the Vegas event planned. You’ll get information soon. It’ll work out to be a blessing for you.

In addition, we’re already formulating plans to deliver you a lot of the content from The Summit straight to you in the comfort and safety of your own home. Initial plans are to live-stream sessions from our home office in Jacksonville, as well as from the offices of our speakers, the same week as the original live event. The content we’ve prepared is just too important for you not to get, so we’re going to make that happen!

My staff and I have already switched gears and are in the early stages of contacting the speakers and working out the logistics of how to bring the event to you online, so please stay tuned and be on the lookout for emails and further communication from my team in the coming weeks.

We’ll also be incorporating a process to hold a virtual deal room as well. I’ll be sending you specific instructions on timeline for submitting leads as soon as we nail it down.

While we know it’s an inconvenience to you, perhaps you can use the time to get a couple extra deals.

Turn this time into a blessing.

Hey, you should a been there when I told Beverly we weren’t going to Vegas, her favorite place on the planet.

Like everything else, the COVID-19 virus will pass, together we’ll get through this. This country has overcome much bigger obstacles, and it will certainly handle this one. All you can do is take the necessary precautions advised by your local, state, and federal government, and go about your life.

We’re currently conducting the Dallas Boot Camp and will conduct next month’s Boot Camp, and the one after, as well as our 1-day Fast Track to Wealth live events in various cities across the country. This virus will not stop us from delivering our training and message, but it will be in smaller groups and rest assured, every precaution will be taken.

We’ll be in touch shortly when we can finalize our plans going forward. Your refund period for the Summit has long passed, but rest assured you won’t lose money even if you already canceled before we did.

Take care of yourself, and stay healthy so you can keep getting wealthy.

My Westgate reservation is in Limbo… Tried calling to cancel & said reservation was made online, has to be cancelled online. How do I do this before the 72hr. deadline to cancel?

  3. Curtis Miller says:

Good response, Ron. As a pilot, I concur that people are still traveling however as more and more events cancel, it it dropping off quickly. I like the idea of providing elements online. I wasn’t going to be able to attend this year due to location and other commitments but I believe that an online option will expose this great event to more people. Take care everyone!

  4. Damian Jensen says:

We definitely share the same mindset Ron. this fear and hysteria everywhere is just silly. the upside is, every time i go to the store, i KNOW i have a clean grocery cart. every single person going in seems to do a full decontamination procedure on the cart with the provided sanitizer wipes before going in. Do I wipe it down? nope, it has already been thoroughly cleaned in advance for me by other more paranoid folks who have forgotten the fact that unless they wipe down every product or item in the store that they or anyone might touch or have touched, then they aren’t any safer by wiping down the cart in advance, but the cart handle at least is clean!

Better yet is the people wearing masks… which incidentally the CDC warns make it MORE likely to contract the disease, BUT if you have the disease, it does make it LESS likely that you will spread it to others…..thanks?

Dont live in fear. wash your hands, avoid being close to people who appear to be sick. same rules different day. live your life and go buy a house!

  5. Fred Waldron says:

Yes it is the right thing to cancel it. But, I am so disappointed! And, sure am wondering about the future of the economy and the Real estate market

  6. Tom Hoang says:

I love Ron Legrand and his staff for always doing the right thing, and the right thing is streaming content during the original week of the Summit. It’s so true, perception is reality, even though it’s such a big scare for the common folks, there’s many others who are fully awake about the mess. Look up colloidal silver.

  7. Randy Connolly says:

Ok, Thanks for letting us know

Smart move at this time. If there is a Virtual Summit, that would be great! Obviously traveling with airlines is iffy now that they are cutting scheduled flights, even if we are taking precautions and going about life, they aren’t! Thanks, Keep us posted!

  13. Wendell Davison says:

I hope as a nation we all strive to help each other be safe and clean going forward. We have been here before as a nation an I’m certain we will prevail! However, I am new to the GC and need some help trying to find a deal and make my first 10k! I have FSBOs coming in to my email, I just do not know where to start.
