“Mechanic to Millionaire” by Gabby Bialik

One of our brand new sessions conducted at the 2013 Real Estate Investor Convention was Y.E.S. (Young Entrepreneurs Seminar).  Ron’s commitment in giving young entrepreneurial minds the tools and techniques they’ll need to get their own businesses (online or offline) off to a great start, compelled him to create this awesome new session  just for kids, ages 13-21.

As you’ll see in the following article, written by 15 year-old Gabby Bialik, a teenager is capable of extraordinary things when provided the opportunity.  Here, she explored her creative journalistic side as she interviewed Ron and wrote this rather insightful, articulate article. (Gabby just graduated from FSU in 2012 and is currently pursuing her dreams). Through Y.E.S, teens just like Gabby are taught how to monetize their passions and effectively market themselves as mini-business moguls.

From mechanic to millionaire, Ron LeGrand has made his mark as an exceptionally successful individual. Determined and aggressive, LeGrand has conquered the money world through the use of real estate sales with virtually no money out of his own pocket.  Right out of high school, he worked as a mechanic and progressed to a “Carney”, traveling and working the skee ball trailers for three years. With time on his hands and his hands in his empty pockets, LeGrand began to read real estate investment books.

Realizing his thirst for financial freedom, he enrolled in a two-day seminar, which focused on buying real estate with no money or credit. The opportunity seemed to define LeGrand’s insufficient financial situation. Within three weeks of the seminar, he cashed his first check in the amount of three thousand dollars. The thrill of these extra riches encouraged LeGrand to make more deals; he realized he was a natural and initially purchased many cheap properties in the Jacksonville area. Although he accumulated 276 rental units within two years, he realized he made some blunders along the way.

These mistakes were corrected and perfected over the course of the next five years. These accomplishments led to the creation of Global Publishing Inc., LeGrand’s own highly reputable real estate training company.

LeGrand has shared the stage with many celebrities and business leaders including:  Donald Trump, Dr. Phil, Don Shula, Jerry Rice, Tony Robbins and Mark Victor Hanson. This multi-millionaire enjoys fishing and diving. LeGrand assures that he has no plans for retirement or to “lay on a beach somewhere,” which would bore him to tears. He intends to work as long he is healthy and capable of working.

LeGrand also advises teenagers how to be successful. He stated that, “the hardest thing that teens come to grips with is convincing themselves they do not know everything.” He recommended that teenagers should “listen to the people they have been around to give them the advice they need and carefully analyze it before they think it does not apply to them.” LeGrand also notified that the society we live in today has so much information available at such a cheap price that a teenager who wants to learn how to grow prosperous has more than enough places to go get that information.

Furthermore, he says that adolescents have a problem with focus. Even when LeGrand was younger, he claimed that he had a hard time sticking to one project long enough to get it completed.

“The less I do, the more I make,” is LeGrand’s motto. “Focus on the things that you should be doing and let someone else do the rest.” Fully living up to his motto, he has prospered to become a multi-millionaire with self-determination and beneficial tactics. Lacking the heavy pockets growing up, LeGrand, nonetheless, has surmounted to become one of the most financially accomplished people of this day.

Thanks, Ron, Ryan, Dave and staff for generously giving of your time to our children, sharing with them the many possibilities which await them as entrepreneurs. My daughter attended and surprised herself by staying the whole day. The seeds have been planted and with my encouragement and example and the many testimonials given us throughout the convention, a new entrepreneur is in the making.
