“Papa’s Big Heart” by Debbie Waters

If you know anything about Ron LeGrand, you know he’s a Marine veteran with a huge heart and deep-felt appreciation for his fellow service men and women.  Just ask any veteran who’s attended one of his boot camps, and they’ll tell you a story of a genuinely caring man who gives back in a very special way.  You’ll see in the video below just how much appreciation one veteran couple felt for Ron as they present him with an American flag and plaque.

For years now, Ron has given away scholarships toward his Quick Start Real Estate School to veterans.  It’s been his way of giving back.  Often times, veterans returning from war are injured or exit the military with no other training to help them get jobs and/or have careers outside of the military.  Ron’s made it his mission to train as many veterans as possible to have a long and viable career in the real estate investing sector.

During our convention in January, we had the pleasure of meeting many veterans.  One veteran in particular, Andra, had returned from military boot camp injured and was paralyzed from the waist down.  As she sat in her wheelchair in the front of the room with Ron by her side, she told her story.  It touched everyone in the room.  She talked about her life; how it has changed and how an organization by the name of Fisher House Foundation had been such a blessing for her family during her very difficult hospitalization.  It brought tears to our eyes, realizing we’d chosen this charity to support even though we’d never met Andra and had no idea she’d be at our event.  We knew we’d found the perfect fit for our mission, for Ron’s mission.

Then, with Ron as auctioneer, our live auction benefiting Fisher House began.  The outpouring of love and gratitude toward Andra from our students was overwhelming.  There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.  Some students who won auction items, wrote their checks and handed their certificates for the items won over to Andra.  Then came the most amazing and gracious gift of all.  It was time for the $5,000 CASH prize drawing.  Everyone was on the edge of their chairs hoping his or her name would be called.  Ron drew the winning ticket and announced the winner, Jay Bowman.  The entire room erupted as Ron handed over the $5,000 cash to Jay.  This was the moment everyone had waited for!  And, just like that, without any hesitation, Jay walked straight over to Andra and told her, that he was giving ALL of it to Fisher House Foundation.  So, believe me when I tell you that Ron has the most amazing and inspirational students on this earth!  In all, we raised over $15,000 for this incredible foundation, and we can’t wait to do it again over the Fourth of July weekend in Las Vegas at our 2013 Real Estate Investor Convention, Part II.

Inspired by his students and motivated by the selflessness of his fellow veterans, Ron has now decided to do even more.  All veterans and active military are now eligible to attend his Quick Start Real Estate School on a FULL scholarship.  If you’re a veteran or know someone who is, who’d like to attend this four-day event, please go to http://www.OurMilitaryHeroes.org to register by June 30th.  During this event, you’ll learn how to buy and sell real estate with absolutely no cash or credit of your own.  This is a limited time offer, so you must be registered for an upcoming boot camp no later than June 30th.
