“Hope for the Future in the Coming New Year” By: Joshua Dudgeon

There’s a famous saying… Life is either a tragedy or a comedy, you get to choose.

I Choose Comedy!

One thing we find ourselves asking, whenever everything seems to go wrong is, WHY ME?

At 26 years old, I went through a major midlife crisis, I remember clearly asking, WHY ME?

I asked my father, who I have consistently gained massive respect for over the years, he replied, WHY NOT YOU?

It’s interesting that this simple question was answered with a second simple question.

As the struggles of life hit our daily existence, we have two responses:

  1. Utter and personify the words Poor Me… or
  2. Say I will persistently find the solution for the problems.

What to do when it all goes wrong?

First, remember everything in this life is temporary, even this problem. There are people who are in your corner, and things going wrong do not define you, but your approach and resolve will.

Worrying, anger, complaining, denial, or anything that diminishes your pain when things go wrong – won’t change the situation.

Choose to put one step in front of the other and begin.

Remember Tomorrow is The Dawning of a New Day!

A new beginning is often just a breath away. A fresh start can be found in every turn of the page, it’s time for you to make your own important change now!

Choose to Pursue Passion and Purpose!

Whatever it is you choose to pursue, you must have a burning, deep-down-inside passion. This gets you up in the morning and makes you want to do something about it.

When you do something that you have this level of passion for, it won’t be curtailed. You will not let anything stop your ambitions, even if it means working harder than ever before! This becomes an indomitable force inside of you. A beacon of light that will help you to rise with every new day and opportunity. Never let down your guard so long as there are fresh challenges waiting just around each corner.

The more fuel you put on top these flames… the hotter they get!

Decide to Master a Difficult Skill!

You can make your brain work better by teaching someone else. When teaching someone else, we grasp/learn concepts much faster, our visual processing speed increases. This allows us not only quicker learning but also increased retention rates of information.

Learning is more effective when it’s brief and frequent. Learning this way will lead to better retention and higher levels of comprehension. You will have a greater ability to apply the knowledge in your life overall!

Taking notes by hand shows many benefits as you’re engaging multiple senses. For example, when students take notes by hand, they listen more closely and actively. They were able to identify important concepts that were being discussed in class, which showed higher retention rates! Mastering a skill is a tool to overcome problems.

Seek to Become an Inspiration to Others.

The way you carry yourself is contagious. If you allow your enthusiasm to spill over to other people every day, you will find the following effect. Those people you are continually in contact with will surely have genuine smiles, positive energy, and a caring concern. Your enthusiasm will be returned tenfold!

Positivity required, think before you speak! It’s easy to criticize and insults won’t get anyone anywhere. Before passing judgment on someone else, think about how you would feel if they said these things to your face, whether the criticism was deserved or not.

Anger is worse, getting mad at somebody for enlightening us about our weaknesses or mistakes, never adds value.

Passion leads to inspiration, which leads to doing our best to love and care for people without consideration of all irrelevant factors. We can inspire trust in others, regardless of their background or situation.

Remember, you are choosing the life you’re going to live… even if by default.

Commit To Your Success and Never, Never, Never, Give Up!
