Student Success Stories – Kurt Dixon

Thank you all for helping achieve my 1st deal of $71,699.12 from a handwritten bandit sign that in my opinion, looked like a kid in kindergarten wrote it, but then again in hindsight I guess they could read my handwriting after all… Took me almost a year, 11 months to be more precise, to get my first deal in a hot market here in Austin, Texas.

I intended to do a “Subject to” or Owner Financing since I live in Texas, but the sellers did not want to do it. However, they were willing to sell it for what they owed and walk away from the house, and I discovered later it was a pre foreclosure. So, I decided to do a Double closing instead of an assignment of contract because of the dollar amounts involved. This turned out to be a good decision to make.

I was nervous at first when I first started learning, but I also knew I would keep getting better until I got good. I kept going until it happened despite ever-present obstacles. And when I say kept on going, I mean lots of calling prospects and putting out lots of bandit signs over the months, an ongoing war with the multiple self-appointed sign police taking down my signs, lots of rejection, time wasters in the form of entitled sellers aka suspects, and being in competition with everybody, their mother and their dog, for my first deal in a hot market where people were irrationality paying 20-25% above market (a good thing when selling a house when you are an investor). Not to mention my own excuses, fears and doubts fueled by negative people around me when I was dumb enough to open my mouth and tell them what I was doing. I kept my goal in mind, followed Ron’s System, and had my mentor help me along the way.

Ron LeGrand. You have been a hero and example to follow since my late teens. It just took me many years to get here because I was not ready in the past. I found you again online March 2020 and this time I did not make excuses. This time, I took action and decided I would not quit or make excuses and continue to become successful. Maybe it was one of those “When the student is ready, the Master will appear ” moments but for me it just took a while. I look forward to learning more from you and becoming a Transaction Engineer, building a huge business, put it on auto pilot and always apply one of the major things you say, “The Less I Do, The More I Make”. Thank you, Ron, you helped change my life.

Andrew and Aaron Schlag, My Mentors, thank you very much for being an excellent mentor and having faith in me. I appreciate all you have done, especially answering my questions, and hosting three-way calls with sellers, especially when I first started. You have encouraged me all along the way, it was highly appreciated. Having a mentor was extremely helpful, and I look forward to continuing my success journey with you. I will do many more deals with your help, and I look forward to it. Thank you, Andrew, and Aaron.

Joy at Eagle VA. I am very grateful for her guidance and advice for helping me on how to use the Virtual Assistants. I relied on her experience dealing with other students to help me in my growing business to make intelligent choices that fit what I needed, she is an excellent person. Furthermore, having virtual assistants saved me a lot of time, energy, and headaches. Thank you Joy and the virtual assistants who prescreened and helped to filter all my leads for me, there was no way I could have called that many prospects, to sort out the ones who were actual prospects.

Also thank you to everyone at the Global Publishing Team and Eagle VA for their excellent work.
