“3-Word Phrases That Will Change Your Life” – Tony Pearl

Ahhh…The Genius of Simplicity. In this article, we’re going to introduce some potentially life-changing and simple 3-word phrases that are also powerful words to live by. The great thing is that because each one is only three words long; they’ll be easy to memorize and use for as long as you like.

Let me ask you something… Do you ever deal with procrastination? Fear? Doubt? Do you want to achieve and accomplish more for yourself and your family, but it seems like something keeps holding you back? You’re not alone. The people we celebrate in life are the ones who have dealt with those same challenges and figured out how to consistently beat them.

As you read over this list, I encourage you to keep an open mind. Some of these simple phrases may challenge the way you think. That’s the idea. You may even want to write them down to refer to later if you’re so inclined.

All right, no more delays – let’s get to it! Here are some simple 3-word phrases that will change your life…

Action Cures Fear

Fear is a natural part of life. Everyone has to deal with it on some level, every single day. Those who know how to consistently conquer fear usually lead much higher quality lives, while those who don’t will usually “lead lives of quiet desperation” (to loosely quote Thoreau).

Master your fear! Don’t let it master you. By far, the best way to accomplish this is by taking ACTION. Please note the FIRST word of this great quote.:
Do the thing we fear, and death of fear is certain.” —Ralph Waldo Emerson

Let’s move on to our next power phrase. This will help get you going quickly…

“Learn By Doing

This one is especially true for all you thinker brains – those who think you have to know everything before doing anything. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, this type of thinking has kept more people stuck & broke than just about anything else.

This mentality could apply to anyone, but I’ve noticed that it typically affects those who are highly educated in schools and universities. Why? Because those environments seem to punish mistakes while rewarding the pursuit of more education. After all, that’s how the universities make their money. Can’t blame them for that, and I’m definitely not against education.

But I believe I’ve come up with a much better way, and it’s a perfect Segway to the next phrase…

“Learn And Apply”

I wrote an article about this not too long ago. In that article, I told a little story about two guys named Larry and Harry, each of whom represented the opposite of each other. Larry represented someone who only focused on learning all the time. No matter how much he learned, he always felt like he needed to learn more before he could take any action. On the other hand, Harry represented someone who would only take action, never taking the time to learn anything more than the basics of his initial training, and never learning from his actions.

When you mixed the two, you got a very powerful combination: Someone who first learned how to do something, then quickly implemented what he learned by taking action on it. But it doesn’t end there! Because it’s just as important to learn from what you applied so that you can then re-apply what you’ve just learned for better results! Confused? Read it again.

Once you get the basics of what you need to learn, then start to take action, it’s time to create a sense of urgency and set some goals so that you can start accomplishing things. This leads us to our next phrase…

Deadlines Create Headlines

Boy oh boy this is a good one! There’s nothing like a hard timeline or due date to make sure you get something done. Think back to your school days when you had a big project due. Sure, it stressed you the crap out, but you usually got that project done and turned in by the time it was due. Unless your dog ate it, of course.

As unpleasant as some of those memories may be, let’s look back at them as providing us some very valuable lessons: When there’s a Due Date (Deadline), you’ll discover the motivation to get stuff done in time. And many times, better than you thought you were capable of doing!

So why can’t we use that in our adult lives? Set a date by which you must accomplish something important. Then work like hell every day until you get it done. Then rinse and repeat until successful! Yeah, I know – it sounds more simple than it is, right? Wrong! JUST DO IT. You’ll see what happens.

Our next phrase has to deal with communication, persuasion, and negotiation…

“Ask Then Tell”

If you want to do business with someone, it may be considered rude to simply jump in and start making a pitch or immediately trying to sell them something before you find out what’s going on with them. You first need to qualify your prospect to see if they’d be a good fit for whatever it is that you have to offer.

Another way of saying this is, “Seek first to understand, then to be understood.” Yes, that’s one of my quotes. But since it’s more than 3 words, it’s not one of the power phrases here in this article. Maybe I’ll write about that some other time. 🙂

But I hope you get the idea. Ask questions first before you make your offer. Usually works for me, and I know it will work for you!

And speaking of making offers, you should definitely…

“Make More Offers”

I learned many years ago that in real estate, “If you ain’t makin’ any offers, you ain’t makin’ any money!” That’s right. This is an essential function in real estate investing. It just HAS to get done. Business is a numbers game. The more offers you make, the more likely it is that you’ll get them accepted.

For example, let’s say you talk to 20 sellers in a week. You analyze every detail. You take out your financial calculator, obsess over the numbers, and then you finally squeeze out ONE offer to a seller. Congratulations. But then that one offer gets rejected. Or worse – you took too long to come up with that offer and the house gets sold to someone else! In this hot market, it happens all the time.

Now let’s look at it another way. Out of those 20 sellers, you wind up making 17 offers. 10 get rejected. 5 get reviewed so that you’re following up. One comes close to being a deal before falling through, but then one of those winds up getting under contract and becoming a deal!

Which way do you think is better? Which way do you think will make you more money? Do you recognize that those are rhetorical questions?

Our next phrase speaks for itself, so I’ll just get right to it…

“Take Massive Action”

Yes, this phrase may seem a little cliche at this point. But that doesn’t dilute the importance of this message. If you are to be successful, you MUST take MASSIVE ACTION. Period.

Ever go swimming? I love to swim! But you can’t enjoy the wonderful sensation of swimming if all you do is dip your big toe in the water. You’ve got to jump in and start splashing around! Even if you start in the kiddie pool.

When it comes to business, the same idea holds true. You’ve got to jump in and start splashing around. Yes, you’ll make mistakes. So what? Yes, you’ll screw things up and lose out on some opportunities. Who cares? There’s plenty more out there!

Remember this: “You don’t have to get it perfect. You just have to get it going.” So why wait? The moment you start to take action, you start to create change. It all starts with YOU, then will quickly radiate out to those around you. And the more you press through, the more powerful you become. But don’t let that scare you. It should empower you.

And speaking of empowering you, I just added this next VITAL 3-word phrase here, because it’s the perfect phrase to follow this one…

“Just Do It”

Do you remember that popular slogan by Nike from a few years ago? It was so powerful, because it summed everything up into those 3 little words.

In a recent article I wrote, “What’s it Gonna Take?” I referred to a book written by Mel Robbins, called “The 5 Second Rule.”  Here’s a quote of a quote of the main idea of this book:

“The 5 Second Rule is simple. If you have an instinct to act on a goal, you must physically move within 5 seconds or your brain will kill it. … There is a window that exists between the moment you have an instinct to change and your mind killing it. It’s a 5 second window.”

In other words, once you get an idea or you know you need to DO something (take action), count to 5 in your head. And then… JUST FREAKING DO IT!! Pick up that phone and make the call. Send out that offer. Raise your hand. Don’t overthink it, JUST DO IT!!

That says it perfectly, don’t you think?  🙂

And finally, please always remember this last phrase, because this one should motivate you most of all…

“Life Is Short”

This goes without saying, but it really is true. Don’t know about you, but the older I get, the faster the time goes. We often think we have more time to do the things we want to do in life, only to realize that there might not be enough time to get it all done. So, what are we waiting for? We’re not getting any younger, and it’s doubtful that the things we really want – or want to do – are just going to magically be given to you. So, if you really want something, you’ve got to just make it happen, Cap’n!

Because life truly IS short. And too many people realize that fact a little too late, when they’re no longer in a position to be able to DO the things they’ve always wanted to do. For so many people, the music dies within them before they have the chance to play it. Please don’t let that be you. Go out there and sing your song. Dance your dance. And don’t worry about who’s listening or watching.

And there you have it! You now have some nice, powerful, and simple 3-word phrases you can easily memorize and use for the rest of your life (may it be long and fruitful). When you combine these power phrases, you’ll see how they all come together to serve you on your mission while you’re continuing on your path in this life.

I’ll borrow one of them right now by reminding you to “Take Massive Action” and start using these right away for maximum benefit.

Finally, I’d like to close this up by quoting one more very important 3-word phrase that I often like to use when wrapping up another article that I’ve written for you. And that phrase is…

“Thanks For Reading!”

Until Next Time,

Tony Pearl

thisis michael conley, tony after 2 months gone wasted on mentoring doing nothing, afraid to call sellers and not knowing how to pay the balance due I finally said I cant do this any more, I’m suffering to much in so many ways that I finally had enough and just picked up that phone and called 20 sellers today just so I can have someone to practice on, because I had no one to practice with, and only then I relized that some of that fear has gone away a little bit, but still need to work on better negotiation skills be cause this will kill your motivation if you don’t get any deals out of it, just one seller gave me a maybe on a refinance and sell to me o/f at closing, but we’ll see. tony thanks for the motivating words of encouragement.
