“The Blackbird Complex” by David LeGrand

Sitting on the Fence

Five blackbirds were sitting on the fence and three decided to fly off. How many were left? The obvious answer is TWO, right? WRONG, all FIVE are left because decidin’ ain’t doin’! How many things did you “decide to do” in 2017 but still are undone? Now we are in the second month of 2018 and they are still bugging you because you are still deciding but you ain’t doin’.

“You may delay, but time will not, and lost time is never found again.” — Benjamin Franklin

Excuses, Excuses, EXCUSES

But life just seems to get in the way.” “I am so busy.” “There just isn’t enough time.” “I’m afraid I will do the wrong thing, or make a mistake.” “I don’t have enough money.” What is your favorite excuse? Just fill in the blank. I once heard this definition of an excuse: “The skin of a reason stuffed with a lie.”

“How can you attain satisfaction if you have more excuses than action?” ―Stanley Victor Paskavich

Sad indeed

I used to observe older people and wonder why so many looked so sad, acted so grumpy, appeared to be disillusioned, and hardly ever smiled. Is it because they never did what was necessary to fulfill their dreams? It must be sad to come to the end of life and feel that you never really achieved and enjoyed your deepest goals and desires.

I am 78 years young and feel I am in the PRIME OF LIFE! If the Lord took me home today, I have no regrets. I have obeyed God’s calling for my life and have done most of the things I wanted as well. I am not going to grow old grumpy. In fact, I am not going to grow old at all, just MATURE! How about you?

“Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone” ― Pablo Picasso

I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU!

My guess is, you have heard it all before. You know what you ought to do. If you always do what you always have done, you will always get what you always got. How long are you going to sit on the fence with the blackbirds? The word NOW appears about 1400 times in the Bible. There is hardly a page in the Bible that does not compel people to TAKE ACTION NOW! 2 Corinthians 6:2 says ”Now is the accepted time, today is the day of salvation.” The word “salvation” means deliverance, deliverance from sin and from anything that would keep you from reaching your greatest potential both here and now and for all eternity in glory. For you, it is NOW or NEVER. The blame game started with Adam but it can end NOW for you.

“If you take too long in deciding what to do with your life, you’ll find you’ve done it.” ― George Shaw

“Thinking too much leads to paralysis by analysis. It’s important to think things through, but many use thinking as a means of avoiding action.” ― Robert Herjavec,

This message is so inspiring. I’m at my last night here after the summit after it ended today and I signed up for mentoring. I have no money really but the finance options are better than I had and I’m with a mentor I’m feeling very good about because even the payments on this education are scaring me from my standard budget. But I’m basing on faith that we can get that first or even second deal, if necessary to knock this education debt out of the park. I appreciate this inspiring message since I have been spending this whole week asking God to help convince I’m not being folly. Thank you pastor / brother David.

This is so inspiring to me. I’m also in my upper 70’s and can identify with this.
    Thanks for the wake up!!!
